What's BYOK and why does Bond use it?
BYOK = bring your own keys. You pay model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.) directly for inference. Bond does not relay your prompts through our servers and applies zero markup on token costs. You always know exactly what you're paying and where it goes.
Is my data sent to Bond's servers?
No. Bond is local-first. Your workspace, memory, conversations, and API keys live on your machine. The desktop app talks directly to the model providers you choose — not to us.
What happens after the 14-day free trial?
Bond drops to the Free tier — you keep using it, but with caps: 3 teammates, 50 memory items, 2 workspaces, 10 docs. Pro-only features (Sync, Council, Meeting, Background Tasks, MCP write-back, advanced exports) turn off, but nothing is deleted. Upgrade to Pro any time to lift the caps.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The 14-day trial doesn't ask for payment info. Download, try, and decide.

Does Bond mark up the cost of AI providers?
